I am trying to find a list of stockists. I am from Australia but travelling to India next month. Can you provide me with a list of bookshops in Delhi that stock this book?
We are working on the distribution side of things (we've self financed the whole book, so it's not as widely distributed as one done by an established publisher). At the moment some of the bookshops in popular Khan Market (a cool area to shop in in South Delhi) are your best bet. Of the 4 bookshops in Khan, "Bahri Sons" is your best bet. bahrisons@vsnl.com www.booksatbahri.com Address: Opp. Main Gate, Khan Market, New Delhi 110003, Tel: 2469 4610/2469 4855
Alternatively, you call call Richard, the co-author, on 9811299700 (he is in Delhi a lot of the time and could supply you a book from our storage facility).
Thanks so much for that info... unfortunately I was unable to read it before I left for my India trip. You will not believe I scourged no less than 8 Indian bookstores with no luck, if only I had tried Bahri Sons!!
I am wondering if Richard would be able to ship me a book to Australia from your storage facility? I would be happy to pay by for the book and postage, insurance etc by paypal or other method. If I could get an email address that would be great.
I am very keen to get this book for my boyfriend and I'm very sore I didn't get a copy in India!
Apologies for the late reply and many thanks for your persistence in trying to get a hold of a copy of the book!
I am sure Richard would be able to post you a copy of the book, I hope it'd make it in time for your boyfriend's birthday. It'd be best to discuss with him directly about the methods of payment for book and postage. I'll pass on your request to him.
Great stuff! By the way I am a beautiful lock on Hrithik’s head full of gorgeous hair! As I have observed, from my vantage point (of being on top of Hrithik’s head, duh!), a lot of you want glamourous locks…but (sigh, sigh) very few of you manage to look like me. So, I will try to be at my swishiest best and using my enviable position to best advantage, I’ll tell you the secrets of my beauty and of course, I’ll give you a glimpse of what goes on in Hrithik’s world. Hair India - A guide to the bizarre beards and magnificent moustaches of Hindustan
In all good bookshops from 23rd May 2008
QUOTABLES
"Kissing a man with a beard is a lot like going to a picnic. You don't mind going through a little bush
to get there."
- Minnie Pearl
Hair India testimonials (from people completely unrelated to the authors)
Says K. Morley of the UK: "THIS BEARD BOOK LOOKS LIKE THE GREATEST WORK TO BE PUBLISHED IN ANY MEDIUM EVER IN THE HISTORY OF MAN. I THINK MY BRAIN HAS JUST EXPLODED."
Our mission, since the Autumn of 2006, has been to seek out the most bizarre and magnificent examples of facial foliage across India. The results are to be published in May 2008 in the 140-pg, full-colour coffeetable book "Hair India".
McCallum and Stowers first met in Delhi in the Spring of 2006; McCallum, a long term resident of the Indian capital, had held for ages a desire to make a book about beards. Stowers, based in Taipei, was at a loose end and instantly saw the projects' potential. Both were clean-shaven at the time ...
Ever noticed those guys hawking false beards at the entrance to Old Delhi's Red Fort (Lal Qila)? What are the beards for, and why here in particular?? The Hair India Team have asked all their many moustachioed contacts but, so far, no valid explanation has been forthcoming. Now is the chance to add your voice to the Great Debate! If you think you can solve the Lal Qila False Beard Mystery, or even just have some clues, then send in your comments now. First prize? A false beard, of course!
